2010 Fantasy Football Week 3 Rankings: Wide Receivers

Bruno Boys Fantasy FootballSep 22, 2010

Week 2 was about seeing what was real and what wasn’t.

We saw the southeastern Mike Williams catch another touchdown and live up to his season-opening performance while the northeastern Mike Williams fell on his face like the rest of the Seattle Seahawks' squad.

Also, St. Louis Rams wideout Mark Clayton didn’t garner huge-target totals, but oddly ended up with two touchdowns in a loss to the Oakland Raiders.

Another week can only tell us more, so let’s dive into our Fantasy Football Week 3 Wide Receiver Rankings.

1. Randy Moss (New England Patriots) vs. Buffalo

Last week proved why you never bench your studs, as Moss did in fact find the endzone against the New York Jets on a ridiculous one-handed catch.

His matchup difficulty abruptly flips to the easy end for Week 3 against Buffalo. Moss has 10 touchdowns in nine games against Buffalo, while averaging 87 yards, so expect another big performance.

Point Projection: 20 points

2. Miles Austin (Dallas Cowboys) @ Houston

The Cowboys are 0-2, but you wouldn’t know it looking at Miles Austin’s stats.

He leads the league in receiving yards by a whopping 85 and has 20 receptions. As long as the Cowboys continue to pass the ball 70 percent of the time, Austin will continue to put up ridiculous numbers, especially against a Houston defense that currently ranks last in passing yards allowed.

Point Projection: 19 points

3. Anquan Boldin (Baltimore Ravens) vs. Cleveland

Boldin’s numbers weren’t great Sunday (five catches, 35 yards), but that was mostly due to Joe Flacco and his four interceptions.

Cincinnati’s defense showed that Week 1 was a fluke, and they are still a formidable pass defense. Flacco will rebound from the tough matchup, and it will show in a big stat line for Boldin against the Cleveland Browns Week 3.

Point Projection: 17 points
