Reactions From The Dude: WWE Monday Night Raw, September 20, 2010

The Doctor Chris MuellerSep 21, 2010

Last night's Raw had a lot of things I want to discuss. The most important of which is the whole Chris Jericho situation.

If you do not want to read spoilers from next week's Raw taping that took place last night, then stop reading now.

Next week on Raw, Chris Jericho will face Randy Orton, with Orton giving Jericho a title shot if Jericho wins the match. Next week on the show, Chris Jericho will take a punt to the head and be wheeled out on a stretcher.

This is an injury angle that is either meant to give Chris the time off he has been wanting or to write him out completely. No contract has been finalized so at this point no one really knows what will happen with Y2J.

On last night's show Chris Jericho lost a great match to John Morrison. Morrison looked great in this match and his streak of beating former world champions continues to grow.

Morrison is being groomed to be a top guy soon and this match showed why. I cannot remember ever seeing anyone vault over the corner turnbuckle to the outside like he did last night.

In other events, the main event was set up for the Hell in the Cell PPV in two weeks between Sheamus and Orton. Orton has a great moment where he tossed Sheamus the belt and RKO'd him at the same time.

These two have good chemistry as heel and babyface, so I hope the match lives up to the hype.

Orton is finally starting to smile and acknowledge the fans as a babyface, which is good, because I actually like him better as a face. When Orton was a heel he was always hiding behind Legacy and running away from opponents.

Now Orton is in your face and has put down everyone in the main event scene week after week with a barrage of RKOs. He has never looked better in the ring and his title reign will hopefully last a while this time.

The new Tag Team Champions had a match while the Hart Dynasty was on commentary. I though Cole went to overboard with the insults to the Harts, but I guess they are really pushing him as a heel announcer.

Edge had a match with Daniel Bryan, which saw him beat the living hell out of Bryan for most of the match.

Bryan almost got in the Lebelle Lock but was distracted by Riley. After getting speared by edge and losing the match Daniel Bryan was then attacked by Miz and Riley. They really worked on him and in the end Bryan was left motionless in the ring.

This was a good setup for the falls count anywhere match the Miz and Bryan will have in two weeks.

There was a Divas match in there somewhere, but I didn't pay attention, as the Divas matches usually make me want to change the channel.

In the main event, we saw the SuperCena character come out once again after he defeated four members of Nexus.

After they all stormed the ring Cena got a chair and chased off the five men who have been plaguing his life for months now.

Overall it was an average show, especially for being the fallout show from a PPV. I guess they don't want to have too much going on since they have a PPV in two weeks. Wait a minute, wouldn't that be the exact situation where you want a lot to happen in a short time?

Oh well, I guess the art of the long buildup is lost in today's wrestling world.

What did you guys think of Raw last night?
