Exploring The Misconceptions About Linda McMahon's Role in WWE

I am going to start by saying that I am not a political person at all and this article is not meant to endorse or insult Linda McMahon in her race for the Senate. This is meant to address the many misconceptions about her role in the WWE.

Linda McMahon was one of the driving forces behind WWE's success both internationally as well as in our own country. She has a great mind for business and that combined with Vince's knowledge of the sport made them the dynamic duo of wrestling promotion.

Linda was not however the sole decision maker in WWE, far from it in fact. Sure she may have been the CEO, but that does not mean she ran the whole company herself.

The WWE has a board of directors, investors, and many other writers and agents who decide the direction of the company.

Linda was not involved at all in the creative process; she was involved on the business end of things. She helped the company get endorsements and international deals, she did not script the shows or decide on the angles run by the wrestlers.

Linda basically had nothing to do with the product we see on television every week. She was a behind the scenes person more than anything.

Some may say that because she appeared on TV a few times to increase the intensity of angles that she was involved, but she wasn't.

Did she agree with everything we see on TV, probably not.

Some people who are looking to trash the McMahon family are quick to point out how they portrayed their son Shane and Daughter Stephanie on WWE TV.

Keep in mind that both Shane and Stephanie were adults who could make their own decisions. Vince ran all their angles by them and if anything made them uncomfortable they would not do it. It's as simple as that.

Linda participated sometimes at the request of her husband Vince, but she did not write her lines or decide how anyone would be portrayed on TV.

She is also not responsible for the welfare of everyone in the company. I'm sure she wanted to look out for her performers like any good CEO would, but she was not the sole decision maker in the company, so a lot of it was out of her hands.

I would be surprised to learn she had any involvement in the lives of the wrestlers in WWE. Her husband Vince is the one who makes most of the decisions that affect the talent and what we see each week on TV.

Did Linda want to see her daughter kidnapped, drugged and crucified on national TV? Of course not, but Stephanie was an adult and made her own decision to do those angles because she knew it would help the company that has provided her family with so much.

If Vince ran for office then I would not be writing this because he is responsible for a lot of things Linda is being blamed for by her opponents.

The people who are trying to take Linda down because of her involvement in WWE have no idea what they are talking about because chances are good that none of them are wrestling fans so they have little to no knowledge on the subject. They just have their interns YouTube some clips and make commercials about them.

Again I would like to state that this is not an endorsement, I am simply stating facts.

The main fact being that Linda has done nothing in WWE except help the company grow globally and make it leader in pro wrestling around the world.

I hope some people who actually care about politics read this and realize the ridiculousness of their allegations against a person who is nothing more than a successful businesswoman.
