Short Review Of Week One In The NFL
Vikings at Saints. – In the second half Brett Favre only completed 2 passes. Some analysis are blaming the receivers for not making the right reads, some are saying that they timing isn’t there. I think that maybe if Brett would have made up his mind and attended training camp they could have gotten the timing better and Brett could have coached up his receivers are making the correct read. So I blame Brett. But I don’t think you need to worry yet Viking fans.
Dolphins at Bills – The fins didn’t quite run away with this game like I thought they would. I was hoping Marshall would have a bigger impact right away. Let’s hope, the AFC east is tough, and the bills are the only easy game they have in the division.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Lions at Bears – I thought this would be a close game. I was very tempted to pick the lions to win last week. As you can see they should have, but instead Calvin Johnson put the ball on the ground a little too soon, and cast his team the win. Lions are finally heading in the right direction. Is Matt Forte the next Brian Westbrook?
Raiders at Titans – I picked the raiders as my upset win of the week, and boy did they prove me wrong. Darren McFadden looked like the player the raiders thought they drafted a few years ago, but it wasn’t enough of an impact for the raiders to have a chance. Vince Young and Chris Johnson ran a full on Option play. All I can say is, it’s about time, and I was calling for the option all last year!
Bengals at Patriots – Earlier this year I picked the Bengals to flop this season, dropping back down to a mediocre team. I know it is too early to tell, but this is a good promising start.
Panthers at Giants – A friend of mine has been talking up Bradshaw all off season and it looks like he is right, he has earned the starting job, he is quicker, and hits the hole with more ferocity then his counterpart. If Jacobs wants the job back, he needs to stop dancing behind the line of scrimmage. He changed his style to prolong his career, but at this rate he may be looking for a job sooner then he expects.
Falcons at Steelers – The Steelers did go back to stealer football, which is controlling the ball on the ground and dominate on defense. I thought the falcons might have a chance, but was wrong. The Steelers are going to be ok, while they wait for there suspended QB.
Browns at Bucs – How many people watched this game? The Buccaneers won a good one, and they did it with a much younger cast, good signs for people in Tampa, not so good a sign for Cleveland.
Bronco’s at Jaguars – In the Josh McDaniel’s era, we have seen the Bronco’s slowly fall apart, sending key players to other teams. I thought they still might have enough left to beat the Jags, I was wrong. Not too much farther to hit rock bottom.
Colts at Texans – Colts looked really good. Peyton Manning played a very solid game, but the lack of ball control and a run game hurt a team many people believe are a super bowl caliber team. Houston on the other hand just looked better; this is the year they make a splash, and in a big way.
Cardinals at Rams – Bradford threw the ball 55 times in his career opener. Maybe a little to much for a team that has Stephen Jackson in the backfield?
Packers at Eagles – Aaron Rodgers sure does throw a pretty ball. Everybody I talk to is calling for Vick to be the starter now, after his impressive showing in the 2nd half. My rebuttal….when Kolb and Vick were trading off every other down, did he look much better then Kolb? Running back my committee works, Quarterback my committee doesn’t. QB’s need to be able to establish a rhythm, neither QB was able to do this in the first half because they were trading off so often. I’m no coach, but I think Vick is a valuable weapon, and would be a great starter, but I think he should use him on goal line situations, and maybe on the rare 4th and shorts that we need. At least give Kolb a fair chance to loose the job.
49er’s at Seahawks – What happened. The 49ers have a great defense, a solid ground game, and enough weapons to make Alex Smith look like a decent starter. They drafted 2 linemen early to protect him. The Seahawks in the mean while hired a coach that hasn't won much in the NFL before. Traded for an unknown QB to be there future, signed a draft bust WR in Mike Williams, and then drafted a very good Safety. I don’t buy into Pete Carroll yet, but this is a promising start.
Cowboys at Redskins – McNabb didn’t look very great in his first start in Washington, but he didn’t need too. Dallas is still my pick for most over rated team.
Ravens at Jets – the win for the Ravens was very pretty, and everybody is questioning what is wrong with the jets, but I don’t think anything is wrong with the jets; this is just the Ravens years. After a few more weeks people will recognize that.
Chargers at Chiefs – Now that is how you open a stadium. The Chiefs defense looked dominate, and you through in a good run game and nice work on special teams by a certain rookie, and you may just have a chance to compete.
