New York Jets Ready to Deliver “Hard Knocks” To The New England Patriots
This weekend in the NFL an AFC East rivalry is renewed when the New England Patriots travel to the New Meadowlands stadium to take on the New York Jets.
BetMania has posted the latest NFL odds and the Patriots are two point road favorites heading into this contest. The Patriots are small favorites based off the performance of each team in week one. The Patriots had an impressive performance, while the Jets looked miserable. It will be interesting to see if things change in week two.
New England Patriots: The Patriots looked great in the first game of the season. The offense, led by quarterback Tom Brady, was flawless in its execution. The Patriots established the pass, mixed in the run, and spread the ball out to multiple receivers. Wes Welker looked like the Welker of last year and seemed unaffected by the injury from a year ago.

On defense, the Patriots looked quick to the ball and aggressive in coverage.
New York Jets: The Jets have talked their way into the NFL spotlight and now have to deal with the scrutiny of playing poorly after their game on Monday night against the Baltimore Ravens.
The offense was anemic and that’s putting it nicely. Sanchez checked down to safe outs and the offense sputtered, struggling on third down conversions and gaining just under 80 yards on the night.
Sanchez realizes that the pressure is on him and the offense to put up or shut up and it starts this week against the Patriots.
Game time Prediction:
Fans and sports bettors always seem to put too much stock into one game, especially in the early part of the NFL season. For example, after the loss on Monday night the odds dropped drastically on the Jets. The odds to win the AFC dropped from 6 to 1 all the way down to 11 to 1
based on that one game.
Nose tackle Kris Jenkins was lost for the year (torn ACL), but the Jets are used to playing without the often injured defensive stalwart.
Offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer will open up the game plan this week and make sure the Jets get plenty of points. Playing against a young defense on the Patriots will make things much easier than they were against the Ravens.
The Patriots looked good in week one at home, but still has to prove they can win on the road. Last year they were 2-6 SU (2-4-2 ATS) on the road and won against some bad teams.
The short week will not bother the Jets and, in fact, they recover quite well, as they are 10-3-1 ATS in their last 14 games when playing on Sunday following a Monday night game. The Jets are 4-1 ATS in the last five games against teams with a winning record and 5-2 ATS in the last seven games against the AFC.
The Jets need this game against the Patriots and have the edge on defense. The Jets offense looks much better in this game and they win with defensive pressure on Brady.
Final: Jets 24 Patriots 20
