Kevin Kolb: The Beginning or The End? Where Do The Eagles Go From Here?
I know, I know...
I need to relax and give the kid another shot. The case has been made for both Michael Vick and Kevin Kolb. Some arguments hold water better than others but we can all agree on this.
Concussion's are serious injuries.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
I feel horrible for Kevin Kolb and I wish him a fast and full recovery. I also feel certain he can make that recovery but part of my job (well, the one I like that doesn't pay) is to speculate on the future of this Eagles team, even if that means kicking a guy while he is down.
Another thing we can all agree on?
This is not the way Kevin Kolb would have chosen to start his career.
I remember speaking with my brother—the Eagles were undefeated, just beating Jacksonville in the first preseason game and we were both excited about the way the offense looked. This was a much better start and inspired confidence.
First play from scrimmage Kolb avoids pressure and zips the ball directly into DeSean Jackson's waiting hands. It was brilliant and continued throughout Kolbs time on the field. He was not perfect but he certainly gave much to look forward too. With that game I was on board as were many others.
Then came Kansas City, Cincinnati. I noticed a distinct change in Kolb that started in KC and has continued through to the season. He does not seem to keep his poise under pressure any longer. Assuming the coaching staff will stick to its guns and keep Kolb the starter, this is a problem that needs to be addressed immediately.
As lousy as I feel writing this, getting a concussion isn't going to bring Kolbs comfort level up and the Eagles line is not functioning against the blitz. The latter well documented by NFL teams. The Eagles are going to have to find a way to stop the immediate penetration by opposing defenses or Kolb's career may come to an end long before he even has a shot.
What can we expect of an Eagles team that can't keep Kolb upright?
I don't believe the Eagles have a bad offensive line. Sure, Peters is a penalty machine, but aside from our new center—whose jury will commence another day—this is pretty much the line they had last year, one I feel had some damn decent games.
So what is it? Whats the deal? Is it the blocking scheme? Do the players have to gel with the new center? Have the Eagles become to predictable with their blocking patterns?
Whatever it is, the Eagles need to find out soon or it won't matter who we want to start at QB.
