WWE Night of Champions: Six-Pack Challenge Elimination Predicitions
Many people hated on the upcoming Night of Champions main event, as they thought just adding a bunch of big names to a main event didn't make it anymore exciting. I was partially on board with this sentiment even though all the competitors deserved their shot for the title.
Then on this past Monday Night Raw, the secret GM made the six-pack challenge an elimination match and I fell in love with this main event. Not only do I love elimination matches, but it lessens the chance of a cheap finish, such as Randy Orton hitting a RKO on Wade Barrett and then Sheamus covering him for another cheap win. This extends the length of the match and adds excitement to it.
The six-pack challenger's competitors are Chris Jericho, Edge, John Cena, Randy Orton, Sheamus, and Wade Barrett, but not all of these competitors have equal chances to win the title, and that's why I'm here.
I'm going to tell you who I think is going to win the title at Night of Champions and my thoughts on the order of eliminations.
First Elimination: Edge
1 of 6
of the six competitors in the 6-Pack Challenge Edge has easily been the weakest of the 6. He's been in promo's with Zack Ryder and he's been wrestling the likes of Mark Henry and The Great Khali. I think Edge will be out of the title hunt for a few months.
The fans still love him and the spear is still popular, but right now he's just playing the role of supporting cast to the other 5 guys in this match. I could see someone like Wade Barrett pinning him, getting Barrett some shine before he is eliminated.
Second Elimination: Wade Barrett
2 of 6
Wade Barrett has been heating up in the WWE, but unfortunately Nexus seems to be dying down. They couldn't help it because of their injuries and unfortunate events dropping their stock. This should be seen as a good thing for Barrett though because win or lose, this is second Pay-Per-View Main Event in his very short WWE career.
The problem is with the stock fall of Nexus, Barrett isn't really the man to win the WWE title just yet. I could see him eliminating Edge and then in a fit of rage Edge spears him, leading to his elimination. Setting up either a feud with Edge or perhaps a fellow Nexus member since he didn't walk away with the WWE title.
I will say this though, I really badly wanted to put Wade in the final 3 and potentially even giving him the title. If Wade were to win the title whether it be with Nexus help or not, it would be the only thing to really invigorate the Nexus storyline other then maybe them feuding with each other. But in the end I just don't feel Nexus has anymore momentum and they lost their hot streak. Right now they aren't what the world of WWE "wants."
Third Elimination: Chris Jericho
3 of 6
I feel like the only reason Chris Jericho lost his original spot is because maybe they didn't like the Jericho retiring storyline. This way he is in another main event and makes the fans happy, but doesn't win it all because he is not a future star or John Cena/Randy Orton.
And come on, I feel like we all see his rivalry with John Morrison on the horizon. I feel like their feud/his jobbing to Morrison will be a really good feud. Setting up what could be an awesome Hell In a Cell Match and boost John Morrison up a little more.
I Think Chris makes it to #4 because he's still a fan favorite, but I could see Sheamus taking him out to still make Sheamus look good considering I don't think the irish warrior will retain his title.
Fourth Elimination: Sheamus
4 of 6
I see Sheamus making it to #2 or #3, showing he is a powerful competitor, but that he's not John Cena or Randy Orton quite yet. I like Sheamus and I think they have handled his title runs poorly. This is a 6 Pack Challenge, so It won't knock him completely out of the Title hunt because the odds aren't in his favor to retain his title.
I think this could setup a Hell in a Cell three way with Orton and Cena, but either way I just see no way Sheamus could retain. The past few weeks have been all Orton and Cena and I think that's what the fans and the WWE want.
Plus whenever Triple H comes back, Sheamus is going to have to be ready to feud with him for a while. And I think Triple H is going to get his revenge and I don't think their going to want to give Triple H the title belt right off the bat.
Fifth Elimination: Randy Orton
5 of 6
I don't know if it's possible, but I think Randy Orton has too much heat. I mean the WWE have made Orton look unstoppable this past month. And even though they do the same thing with John Cena and still make him come out on top... I think its not QUITE Orton's time yet.
I can see Orton winning it just as easily as I think Cena is going to win it. It was almost a coin flip between these two, because it doesn't matter who wins, if the final 2 comes down to them it is going to setup the feud/storyline all of the WWE fanatics want.
In the end my coin came up Cena because like I said I think it will be little bit longer til Orton's reign. A reign that I believe will be a long one, where he is RKOing everybody in the WWE.
Your WWE Champion: John Cena
6 of 6
Unlike what I feel most of The Bleacher Report wrestling fanatics think about John Cena, I do not feel the same way. John Cena is not my favorite wrestler but I like him and I think what matters is he is still WWE's poster boy and I think they would like to see him have another title reign. Simply stated... John Cena is hated on too much because he is loved so much.
Like I mentioned in Randy Orton's section, either way this sets up a great feud with the two poster child's of the WWE Orton and Cena. I don't really know what everyone thinks, but I feel like Cena isn't a popular prediction. I feel like Orton would be #1, Wade Barrett and Sheamus somewhere in the #2 and #3 range, and then Probably John Cena as the #4 most popular pick.
The past couple weeks on RAW seem to set up Cena and Orton battling it out as the final 2 in the 6-pack challenge though, so that's how I came to my conclusion. Orton has been RKOing Cena for weeks now, I think Night of Champions is Cena's turn
