Sinking Ship

Pardon My Bias Bleacher ReportSep 12, 2010

It is official…the San Diego Padres are a sinking ship. They just let the San Francisco Giants take three out of four games and are now at a dead tie for first place in the division. On top of this, the Colorado Rockies are only 1.5 games behind. Things are getting ugly for the Padres and it seems as if the acquisition of Miguel Tejada and Ryan Ludwick have not added any fire to the offense. Although the pitching has become somewhat shaky as of late, their offense is nowhere to be seen.

Today was supposed to be a pitching duel, Mat Latos vs. Tim Lincecum, but even Latos got hit up. He is currently the Padres most reliable starting pitcher and not even he could keep the Padres afloat. Now San Diego is going to have to take a step back and figure out what in the world is going on. I personally have no idea. The pitching is having trouble and the offense is just dismal. I can’t even think of a solution at this point. Either way, the Padres need to figure it out fast or they will be watching the playoffs from home. They could potentially be in 3rd place in the division by the end of the week.

I’ve spent most of this season cheering on the Padres and being proud of them. I had told many people at the end of last season that the Padres would surprise the world. Now I am worried. I am scared that their brilliant, surprising season may all go to waste. So Padres, please figure it out and get back to your winning ways…please!

This is just an opinion…so please Pardon My Bias.
