Is Josh Bidwell the Best Punter The Washington Redskins Can Find?
If you have been following my writing so far this preseason and now into Week 1, you have realized that I do not like the Redskins' pickup of Josh Bidwell.
I have thought that his leg strength is horrible since his days in Tampa Bay.
Now flash forward to present-day Washington, D.C.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Bidwell has to rely on a "friendly" bounce—I call it generous—to get the yards per punt average he needs to be somewhat competitive with the rest of his punter friends in the NFL.
I do not find his accuracy to be overwhelming either. His "coffin corner" kicking is what you would call less than stellar.
Not to mention Bidwell also serves as the team's placekicking holder. Hopefully, not for long.
During the third quarter against the rival Dallas Cowboys, the Redskins had the opportunity to take the lead 13-0. Key words there are "had the opportunity." It was not because Graham Gano missed a field goal from less than 30 yards, but because he never had the opportunity to try. Bidwell mishandled the snap and had to fall with it, creating a turnover on downs.
On Bidwell's next attempt to redeem himself, kicking from his own end zone, his punt only traveled 27 yards—letting Dallas march down the extremely short field and score a touchdown, their first points of the day.
Bidwell's play so far for the Redskins has led him to be nominated for my "Stewie Griffin's What the Deuce" award.
I write this article as the game is still in the third quarter, therefore allowing Bidwell to completely redeem himself or blow it completely. However, I do have to ask if he is the best the Redskins can get. I wonder.
