Kent State might be a 1-0 team both SU and ATS, but knocking off the Murray State Racers 41-10 isn’t really anything to write home about.
What is clear for the Golden Flashes this year is that they are going to be coming after opposing quarterbacks. Thanks to a ton of sacks and great penetration on rushing plays, Murray State ended up losing 65 rushing yards on the day.
It was a good start to the season for Spencer Keith under center, as he went 24-of-35 for 275 yards with three TDs and an INT in his ’10 debut. There really isn’t a huge rushing threat to be worried about, which should really play into the hands of a BC defense that loves to get after the passer as well.
The 2010 debut for the Eagles was an iffy one, as they only beat Weber State 38-20 as 30 point favorites. Neither side of the ball played particularly well, but the bottom line is that BC took a step closer towards bowl eligibility and rewarded the Wildcats with a nice payday for making the trip to Chestnut Hill.
David Shinskie is going to be looking over his shoulder very, very soon if he isn’t careful. He only went 10-for-20 for 185 yards with two TDs and two INTs, numbers that simply aren’t acceptable against an FCS foe. Mike Marscovetra did a nice job in limited action off the bench, going 2-for-3 for 38 yards and a TD.
One man that isn’t going to have to watch over his shoulder is third year running back Montel Harris. He’s off to a flying start in 2010 after rushing for 115 yards and a TD on 19 carries. With just 28 yards this week, Harris will reach 2,500 rushing yards in his career.
NCAA Football Insider Tip: Boston College is 7-2 ATS in its L/9 against the college football game odds in Chestnut Hill.
There’s no reason that this should be an exception. The Eagles are clearly the superior team in this game, and a better effort than the one that was shown last week against Weber State should be the end result.
These two teams have met in each of the L/2 seasons, with BC doing a great number on the Flashes. The Eagles are 2-0 SU and ATS, winning by an aggregate score of 55-7.
Boston College will beat the college football game odds come Saturday afternoon.
