Top 5 WWE Storylines/Feuds I'd Like to See
Nowadays, the WWE doesn't seem to know what it's doing as far as storylines are concerned. A common example of this is with their hottest storyline of the year: The Nexus. They build these guys up to look like a legitimate threat. They beat down top guys and even win clean against the biggest superstars the WWE has to offer...or at least that's how they are booked for that week. The next week will most likely see them losing their matches against the same people they just beat 7 days before that. It's like they don't know what they want.
The WWE is blessed with an entire locker room full of some of the most talented guys in the business. With so many guys at their disposal, the WWE could easily create some very entertaining and long lasting feuds. Well, while we sit and wait for the WWE to produce better storylines, I've compiled a list of 5 feuds/storylines that I'd like to see. Keep in mind that these stories could not necessarily all occur simutaneously, so try to view them individually instead of as a whole.
Anyway, let's start the countdown...
5. Wade Barrett vs Justin Gabriel
1 of 6
When the Nexus first debuted, everyone was shocked and amazed at the impact these rookies immediately made. Lead by frontman Wade Barrett, the Nexus dominated top superstars such as John Cena, CM Punk, and more recently, The Undertaker. The group seemed unstoppable until they suffered their first loss at Summerslam at the hands of Team WWE (or Team Cena as they are also known). However, they quickly bounced back the next night by scoring victories (though mostly dirty victories) against members of Team WWE. These victories led to Wade Barrett receiving a title shot at Night of Champions.
This is where Justin Gabriel steps in. He is one of the most, if not the most, talented member of the Nexus. He is viewed as the second in command of the group, as he is often the 2nd to last member eliminated in tag team competition, and always performs his finisher last during an attack. He has proven loyal to a fault to the Nexus. But how will this loyalty hold up when the allure of gold is added to the mix? This is how they should slowly break up the Nexus: With the betrayal of Justin Gabriel. I'm as big a fan of the Nexus as the next guy, but I feel like the storyline is beginning to run stale. Having a betrayal of this magnitude could easily add entertainment value and build a long lasting feud between Wade Barrett and Justin Gabriel. The title doesn't even need to be in the picture, though it would be a nice addition. Anyway, next....
4. CM Punk vs Randy Orton
2 of 6
CM Punk hasn't had a lot of success lately on Smackdown. Week in and week out, he seems to be either A. Losing to Big Show or B. Winning against a midcarder that doesn't give him any credibility. The point of this may be to eventually break up the Straight Edge Society. As we saw recently, CM Punk attacked Luke Gallows after they suffered a loss Big Show. Without the SES holding him back anymore, CM Punk could go on to dominate Big Show until Smackdown moves to SyFy. With the big switch, CM Punk moves to Raw and quickly enters the title picture.
After a nice comeback, CM Punk captures the WWE title, something Randy Orton has been attempting since he lost the title last year. As Orton is a natural #1 contender, this feud could easily take off and last for a nice period of time, though the title shouldn't always be involved. CM Punk is a fantastic heel and an incredible in-ring performer. Randy Orton plays the role of face/tweener very well and is also very amazing in the ring. With this two, we definitely see 5 star matches and also nice promos as well (especially from CM Punk).
3. Edge and Christian
3 of 6
Edge and Christian have each taken very different career paths. Edge has reached the highest peaks in the WWE, while Christian is stuck in the midcard or jobbing to the newest up and coming superstar. These two could easily engage in a feud that could last for a nice, long time. The WWE teased this feud a few months back before Edge left Smackdown. Both of these guys are very great in-ring performers that are both very over with the crowd. I'm sure this match alone could cause in increase in PPV buyrates. Another benefit from this confrontation would be the possibility of Christian entering the World Title picture.
Another alternative to this storyline exists, however. While these two could easily feud for a lengthy period of time, they could just as easily...reunite! Now, there are many, many people who are dying to see these two go at, but I feel that they could also bring these two back together and still create a great storyline. Not only would we see an interesting turn of events, but we'd also see a possible revival in the seemingly dead tag team division. These two are veterans in the ring and are also veterans in tag team competition. They could easily re-establish the tag team division in the WWE and create great feuds with some of the younger guys (Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes, anyone?).
Either way, if Edge goes to Smackdown, he and Christian need to interact with each other in some way, shape, or form.
2. The Miz vs John Cena
4 of 6
Last year, The Miz challenged John Cena to a match. When John Cena didn't answer his challenge, he would declare himself the victor and announce the current score. After 7 or 8 challenges, I believe, Cena finally accepted his challenge. While the Miz was dominated during their match at Summerslam (I believe, correct me if I'm wrong), it made for a very entertaining feud.
This year, we could potentially see this feud take off again. The Miz isn't the same Miz as he was last year. He's greatly improved in the ring and has tasted a great deal of success. With the Money in the Bank briefcase, he is basically a guaranteed future WWE Champion. It's no secret that John Cena is the unluckiest person in the world when it comes to MITB cash-ins. The Miz even said that out of anybody he could cash it in on, he would choose to cash it in on Cena.
Both of these men, like them or not, are great performers. They both shine on the mic and could easily have some of the most entertaining promos on the mic (as long as Cena didn't act too PG about it). A feud with Cena could also establish the Miz as a legit champion and boost his star power.
Now, on to the last one...
1. John Cena vs The Undertaker
5 of 6
Ah yes, the match that everyone, including myself, is dying to see. John Cena, the Face of the WWE, against The Undertaker, the Deadman/Phenom. A match of this calibur is sure to bring about a lot of PPV buys and a lot of entertaining promos/matches. The easiest way to do this is to further give the people what they want: Make John Cena a heel. Or maybe make the Undertaker turn into the monster he once was. Maybe Superman has to go save the day when no one else can answer the challenge of the Undertaker. No matter which way they do it, it needs to culminate on the grandest stage of them all: Wrestlemania. Of course, buildup would be a necessity in this one. Hyping this match up a couple of months in advance would, without a doubt, bring about more PPV buys and would make the fans happy.
Conclusion

As you can see, the WWE is sitting on a gold mine. They have so much potential when it comes to storylines and feuds. All they have to do is pull the trigger.
