Both the Cincinnati Bengals and New England Patriots open up their 2010 NFL betting schedules on Sunday, September 12th at 1:00 ET at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts. They were both eliminated in the first round of the playoffs last season so they both feel they have something to prove in their 2010-11 seasons. This is the first meeting between these two teams since October 2007. The Patriots have owned this series recently having won five of the L/6 regular season meetings.

Cincinnati had quite a busy off-season. They signed free agent WR Terrell Owens to team with fellow loud-mouth WR Chad Ochocinco and Andre Caldwell to make up one of the best three-headed monsters in the NFL. They also drafted versatile Texas WR Jordan Shipley to bolster their corps of talented WR’s. With this WR corps, Carson Palmer at starting QB, and bad boy Cedric Benson at RB, the Bengals will be a team to look out for this season.
When you have Tom Brady as your starting QB, you know your offense is in good hands. The Patriots come into the 2010 season with Super Bowl expectations. With Tom Brady at QB and a very strong WR corps that includes Randy Moss, Julian Edelman and a returning Wes Welker, the Patriots have now added Rookie Brandon Tate to the mix. They also have a strong running game led by Laurence Maroney and veteran Fred Taylor.
The Bengals enter this game in a tough spot for NFL bettors having gone 14-18 SU & 14-19 ATS in all games the L/3 years. During that span they were an awful road team churning up a record of 5-11 SU & 7-9 ATS. They have won only nine of their L/21 SU but won an impressive 13 of their L/22 ATS when dogged. New England has been amazing as a favorite the L/3 yrs winning 21 of its L/28 games while going 14-13 ATS. They have been an impressive home team going 13-4 SU, but only 8-9 ATS making NFL bettors very unhappy.
