Florida Marlins Owner is a Joke
Jeffrey Loria is a complete joke to all of sports. Being an owner is such a challenge because you have to work with both personal interest and also respond to team and fan needs. Some owners are not lucky (like the Steinbrenners and the Jerry Jones’ of the world) in being able to have deep pockets and pretty much having whatever and whoever on their team. Many teams like the Tampa Bay Rays and the Oakland Athletics have had success with the right mix of veterans and home grown talent while competing in extremely small markets. Jeffrey Loria, on the other hand is a complete joke. All this guy cares about is pocketing some extra cash rather than playing the game the right way.
In an article that was reported by Yahoo, Loria has secretly been “investing” Marlin dollars into another company that is owned and run by him. In another article that was published today, Loria decided not to honor Bobby Cox in his last trip to Florida in the season. in the article, it mentions how every other ball club has given Cox a nice departing present by honoring his number on their jumbotrons. However, Loria was too cheap to even do that for one of the greatest managers in MLB history. Supposedly this guy is still upset that Cox had given his two cents about the surprising firing of Freddi Gonzalez early this year. Comeon Jeffrey Loria, don’t make your any image any worse by being so selfish and forgetting what your duties are as owner. Your team is extremely talented and maybe ready to compete again next season- so please don’t blow it up so that you can pocket some extra change. Build your team a nice stadium and give the loyal Marlin fans something to cheer about.
