What The WWE Is Good At: Ruining a Good Thing

Hey everyone at BR. The name is Ed and I am a WWE fan. Yes, even at this stale era. I cheer at John Cena, I enjoy The Miz's promo and I even like those diva matches.

All is good and dandy until I watched season 2 of NXT and saw Kaval winning it. I have nothing against Kaval, actually it rocks that he won. I have just had it with the crap WWE is shoving up our faces. My article today are things WWE is ruining.

This article is written by a very pissed fan. So comment away if I cross the line.

Now you ask what does NXT have to do with this? Well think back on the format of the show. Eight superstars are competing for a chance to be the "next big star" of the WWE. The winner also gets a title shot in a PPV event. It sounds oddly familiar. It sounds a hell lot like WWE Tough Enough. Remember that show. That show was gold actually as it gave us John Morrison, The Boogeyman and even The Miz. So what the hell is up with this already contracted superstars competing in a scripted competition?

But hey, I say lets watch it first. I saw NXT season 1. Wade Barrett won it. Ok, cool. So why are the other NXT contestants on RAW?

Did WWE run out of ways to debut a superstar? I mean instead of putting Kaval in a stupid show like that, why not just give him a"Bobby Lashley" debut? Remember that dude. Even Micheal Cole was excited when he came to the WWE. Now he is bashing every indy famous wrestler that enters WWE.

So every guy that was trained in the WWE "farm" is better than any 10 year veteran? Thats Bull.

And speaking of that, why don't WWE just air FCW along with Raw and Smackdown? Ok, it sounds dumb, stop laughing. But I am sure its better than NXT.

So I guess I am just saying that NXT sucks. No big suprise really.

And another thing. Alberto del Rio. Why is this dude not in NXT? You put Kaval in a crap show like that and all of a sudden this newbie gets a clean victory from Rey Mysterio. He even did it with an arm bar. What the hell. The way he applies it is so unconvincing. Swaggers ankle lock is more impressive.

Now he is suddenly becoming this WWE "new face of Smackdown" when he only debut not long ago. I feel another Sheamus surfacing.

I look back at Sheamus' title win and it was really stupid. The idea of him holding the title at that time was actually interesting. This Irish dude suddenly holding the gold of WWE after seeing the same people wear it is fun. Yes, its fun. I just wish they would've made it more convincing.

If Sheamus was to be champion during the Attitude era then...actually he would never win the title at the Attitude Era. WWE would never allow it. No way in hell. Kane lasted a day with the belt. You really think this Irish dude would win it? Then good for you.

Actually if he was to win the title, he would first hold the Intercontinental belt or the tag belt and ESTABLISH himself as a force to be reckoned with. So what the hell is the WWE doing rushing title wins?

Then we turn to the Money in the Bank. When it was first introduced, I thought that it was a way for "forever midcarders" to win the big one. When Edge won it, I was actually Ok. Edge deserves it after all his time playing midcard and doing tag team. He was actually done with mid card. The only thing he needs back then is the WWE belt.

When RVD won it, I also thought its deserving. He is also considered a "forever midcard". Then Mr. Kennedy won it. Fine. Then CM Punk. I thought oh boy, the MITB is ruined. It didn't help when he won it the next time. Then Swagger won it and that was just it.

Watching the MITB now is painful because we see Matt Hardy and Christian being trump by younger guys. I think people was outrage when Shelton was released not winning one of these.

I mean, is it really hard to build a superstar up? Do we really have to see a superstar be catapulted so rapidly? ONLY IN THE PG ERA CAN WE SEE A DOLPH ZIGGLER BE A SUCCESS. I look at this guy and kick myself for watching wrestling. No offense but Evan Bourne has not won a title yet. The Miz took forever to win a title. Then we see this boring guy win a belt. That is fkd up.

I also have the same misgivings for Legacy. OH MY GOD IS STABLES REALLY OBSELETE TODAY? Dude making a stable is easy. You get 3 midcarders, a WWE champion and a diva.Then you let them have their run. Give them the tag team belt. The IC/US belt. Let them boast. Have them dominate for a year. Its easy.

We went from Evolution to JBL's stable to La Familia to Legacy to SES. You can see a pattern if you look closely.

Speaking of stables, how is Legacy a stable? We are getting a full frontal view of wrestling politics when Legacy was formed. Evolution was about the past, present and future of WWE. Legacy was about: my dad was a wrestler therefore I am superb. BS. Loads of BS.

How did second/third generation superstars become the second coming of the WWE? Thats blatant corruption. Oh yeah, lets brush off the fact that Dusty Rhodes was a former booker, or that The Million man was a former WWE champion or that Bob orton was...a wrestler.

So if my dad was a performer then I, as his child, should also be one. So DNA is how we judge good talent now? Oh yeah, Evan Bourne was just an indy guy with an awesome finisher. Who else thinks its unfair?

Actually the creative is to blame.There are other ways to package a superstar other than telling the world that he was the child of so and so. Then again we can't blame them. Fans just wants to know everything and ruin the suprise for the rest of us. I don't want to be a creative writer in the WWE right now.

But whatever, I'm just a fan writing his thoughts on a blog. let me just sum it up.

1. NXT is a stupid version of Tough Enough

2. Sheamus holding the title is dumb.

3. The MITB should stop.

4. WWE pushes the wrong people to the top.

5. Second/Third generation superstars should earn a reputation.
