I don't think anyone can argue that Jamarcus Russell is one of the worst quarterbacks of all time. Man what a bust. With the #1 pick in the 2007 draft, the Raiders passed on Adrian Peterson, Darrelle Revis, Brady Quinn, Calvin Johnson, Patrick Willis, Kevin Kolb and Sydney Rice just to name a few.

With Russell finally gone, and Jason Campbell taking the snaps, the Raiders are finally poised to make a run at the AFC west title.

Al Davis

One of the best owners in the NFL, Al Davis has been very disappointed with his team over the past 3 years. Arguably after his best draft as Raiders owner, he is expecting alot of changes during the season and he is hoping Tom Cable can coach this team to the postseason.

Great Passing Defense

Arguably the best cornerback in the NFL (not the best anymore after the year Revis had), Nnamdi Asomugha has had a great career. And with Chris Johnson(very underrated cornerback) at the other end, the Raiders pass defense should be great this year.

Great Draft

When the Raiders picked Rolando McClain with the 8th overall pick, they got a steal with the 254 Pound linebacker. Other picks were DT Lamarr Houston, OT Jared Veldheer, and OT Bruce Campbell.

Jason Campbell Leads the Offense

Jamarcus Russell is finally gone. And now with former Redskins QB Jason Campbell taking the snaps, the Raiders offense should finally produce like they should be.Darren McFadden is a good running who hasn't had a lot of success the past 3 years. WR Darius Heyward-Bay is a very underrated WR and with a better QB he should have a great year. And TE Zach Miller, one of the best TE in the NFL, should also have a great year.

More Experienced Tom Cable

Yes, we all know about the jaw punching incident last year. But with Al Davis getting more and more frustrated, Cable should know the offense better and the defense is now better with McClain and Asomugha.
