Jericho Retiring: A Legend Under-Rated Not Getting The Send Of Deserved!

Thomas EnnionSep 3, 2010

Rumours are doing the rounds across the internet that Chris Jericho is due to retire from Wrestling and is again going to concentrate on "other projects".

According to press speculation in UK, Chris Jericho's WWE contract is due to expire in the next couple of weeks. With this in mind, Jericho seemed quite to squash the chance of negotiations as he plans to tour with his band Fozzy on a UK tour.  Furthermore, Jericho is now in his 40s, therefore there is a real possibility that it genuinely will happen much to the dismay of most wrestling fans.

With Jericho due to release a second instalment of his autobiography that chronicles his time with the WWE after making his now legendary debut against the Rock with the Y2J Countdown, hopes from most fans were that he would stay on until after the release date to help promote the publication. This also seems to conveniently come around the same time that the WWE are due to release a 3 Disc Best Of Career for the Iatola Of Rock And Rolla.

As a huge Jericholic I can recall most of his highs without having to flood the old memory banks. He is regarded with the highest regard with most internet communities. A true showman and a master of his craft, he is able to get the best out of any opponent, be it an old veteran like Steamboat or an up and coming rookie like The Nexus.

The sad thing is, Jericho is the last of the genuine main eventers. The worrying thing that I can't stomach is the possibility he will not get the same send off of a Shawn Michaels or Ric Flair etc.

Jericho will be inducted into the WWE hall of fame no doubt. But like most fans I don't think I could face another loser leaves Raw match like the last time he took time off to say goodbye to a true legend.

The question that should be asked is.......How should he leave the WWE?
