Pittsburgh Steeler Byron Leftwich Has a Torn MCL, Out Indefinitely
The Pittsburgh Steelers have endured another turn in the quarterback controversy. This time, it is nowhere near good news.
Moments ago, ESPN AFC North blogger James Walker tweeted a report from Scott Brown that Byron Leftwich has a torn MCL and is out indefinitely.
Here is what Brown had to say in his report today: "Quarterback Byron Leftwich has apparently torn the medial collateral ligament in his left knee all but knocking him out of the games the Steelers had planned to start him."

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
A tough break for the Steelers. With the suspension of Ben Roethlisberger likely being reduced to four games at the minimum, the veteran Leftwich was expected to be left in charge of leading this offense for a short period of time.
Now, the reigns are likely going to be given to Dennis Dixon, who has been criticized for his play during the preseason thus far.
Did I predict too soon? Last week, I said the Steelers will make the playoffs with a 10-6 record, despite the suspension to Roethlisberger. Though I will stick by it, as I believe it will be tough to see the Steelers miss the playoffs two straight years, I do not have as much confidence in Dixon as I do in the veteran Leftwich.
