The Yankees sat through two rain delays before they lost to the Kansas City Royals by a score of 4-3.

Here are some notes:

  • Dustin Moseley went 4.1 innings and allowed all four runs.
  • The Yankees liked what they saw from Curtis Granderson on Thursday so they put him in the No. 2 hole yesterday.
  • Nick Swisher was benched because of the heat.
  • Alfredo Aceves made a rehab start last night in Double-A. He threw two innings, allowed no runs, one strikeout, and no walks.

I did not stay up for the entire game last night. Since they sat through a nearly three hour rain delay Iโ€™m really glad I didnโ€™t. There is something about these Yankees-Royals games. It seems like almost every one gets some rain. The two sides are back at it tonight with Phil Hughes (13-5, 3.92) going up against Sean Oโ€™Sullivan (1-3, 5.05).
