Last Gasp Of Optimism
As the calendar page turns from July to August and the New York Mets roller coaster season continues, the team is ready to embark on their most pivotal road trip of the season. After losing 2 of 3 to the lowly Arizona Diamondbacks the team hasn’t given us much to be optimistic about and fans moral has hit a season low with a series opening loss to the Braves. However, if this team is going to stay competitive for the remainder of the 2010 season and fight for a playoff spot they will need their core hitters, Carlos Beltran, Jose Reyes, and David Wright to be the August players they have been throughout their respective careers.
