The Mets have traded Mike Jacobs to Toronto for a player to be named later. Nick Evans promoted to Buffalo in his place.

The first basemen had a poor showing for the Mets early in the year batting .208 in 24 at-bats before giving way to rookie Ike Davis.  Since then Jacobs has had a somewhat respectable showing for the Triple A Buffalo Bisons:

Jacobs will likely head to Triple A Las Vegas for Toronto and at least now Mets fans can’t say the team did ‘nothing’...
