Terrell Owens and the Cincinnati Bengals: A Match Made in Heaven
Terrell Owens embarked on a turning point in his career, when he signed with the Cincinnati Bengals. There is no doubt Owens has been a huge distraction at times, which has worked against the priorities of his various teams. But at the same time, there is no doubt that Owens is a more than capable receiver.
Sure, he is past his prime, but that doesn't mean he can't contribute. In the 2009-10 season, Owens was playing in Buffalo under young, uncertain quarterbacks. In Buffalo, he was out of his comfort zone, and away from the eye of the media. Yet, he still managed to have a solid 55 receptions and 829 yards.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
This may not be the typical Owens stat line, but when realizing he is 36 years old, these numbers are slightly more impressive. What's even more impressive is that he had no trouble been a team player and no controversies erupted. It appears that Owens is beginning to acknowledge his inappropriate behaviors in the past.
Owens acknowledged after signing with the Bengals that Carson Palmer has elite skills, and a vertical passing game that would be a dream for any receiver. Palmer is an established, successful NFL quarterback with a career completion rate of 63%. Most importantly, Palmer has had previous experience with flamboyant wide receiver Chad Ochocinco.
With a solid draft and the addition of Owens, Palmer has an offense that is potentially lethal, especially considering the lack of quality cornerbacks within the AFC North. Signing Owens was also a priority of Palmer, giving Owens perhaps the first opportunity to play with the quarterback who is not concerned with his off-the-field antics.
Finally, playing with Chad, will relax Owens giving him a comrade and a fellow media magnet. Terrell Owens needs a new opportunity to illustrate his football skills, while Cincinnati needs another offensive spark. This signing may just be a perfect match for both parties involved. Pac-Man Jones, Ochocinco, and Owens will no doubt form one of the most entertaining teams in football.
