August Can't Get Here Quick Enough

Apparently I’ve grown so accustomed to being tortured by the Mets throughout July, even on an off day I needed to find a way to get my fix.  I decided to take a look at just how dire the team’s offense has been through 26 days of July and woolah……..thirst quenched.  Warning, these stats are not for the lighthearted but without the team’s West coast hitting to put you to sleep, these July numbers should do the trick:

If the above chart hasn’t blinded you, reading on may do the trick.  The Mets were in the middle of the pack in most of these categories throughout the first three months of the season but to say there has been a power outage in heat of Summer sounds like a bad 60′s song and is also a drastic understatement.  As shown above their 56 AB/HR in July ranks last in the majors and unfortunately sucks the life out of the marked improvement the team saw in the same category between May and June:
