Gerald Harris To Replace Jorge Rivera at UFC 118 Against Alessio Sakara

Dale De SouzaJul 23, 2010

Come August 28, it looks like Alessio Sakara's night will be a little bit different than he'd originally hoped.

He has been training for a bout with "El Conquistador" Jorge Rivera, who is coming off of a win over Nate Quarry.

He's now going to have to deal with a "Hurricane" in the man that made one of ESPN SportsCenter 's top plays, Gerald Harris.

Coming off of the Knockout of the Night at UFC 116 over Dave Branch, the former Ultimate Fighter contestant stepped in when Rivera had to pull out of his middleweight bout due to a broken arm.

Unquestionably, Harris will have his work cut out for him when he faces the American Top Team striking sensation in what will be Harris' toughest test to date.

This middleweight clash between one of Greg Jackson's hungry warriors and one of American Top Team's established veterans will take place at UFC 118 live from the TD Garden in the UFC's first outing in Boston, Massachusetts on August 28th.

Headlining this card is the highly anticipated Lightweight Title rematch between Champion Frankie "The Answer" Edgar and Challlenger "The Prodigy" BJ Penn.

Co-headlining this event will be Randy "The Natural" Couture, who is coming off of the win by technical submission over Mark "The Hammer" Coleman and will be facing boxing legend James "Lights Out" Toney in one of the sport's most talked about fights.

Also slated for the card is a middleweight battle of skilled jiu-jitsu artists as Rousimar Palhares faces former UFC middleweight contender Nate "The Great" Marquardt.

Rounding out the card are a lightweight battle for contention between Kenny Florian and Gray Maynard, as well as a welterweight battle between the original Lightweight Ultimate Fighter winner, Nate Diaz and Ultimate Fighter 2 alumni Marcus Davis.

Whether you're five minutes, five miles, or five hours away from the TD Garden in Boston, I promise you that you don't want to miss this exciting night of top-flight action as only the Ultimate Fighting Championship can deliver!
