Stats: Jesus Montero Is So Hot Right Now

Some of the Yankees executives were upset with the Mariners for backing out of the Cliff Lee trade that would have sent Jesus Montero to Seattle, but it’s starting to look like maybe they should be thanking them instead. Montero is on fire!

Here are his numbers for July:

15 G, 50 AB, 14 R, 21 H, 4 2B, 4 HR, 11 RBI, 13 BB, 7 SO, .420 BA, .531 OBP, .740 SLG, 1.271 OPS.

He’s also been great with RISP:

66 AB, 32 R, 21 H, 7 2B, 1 3B, 2 HR, 30 RBI, 14 BB 14 SO, .318 BA, .427 OBP, .545 SLG, .972 OPS.

Guess who learned how to hit Triple-A pitching? If he keeps this up, they’ll have to call him up soon.
