Thole Demotion Coming?
According to Adam Rubin, Josh Thole could be demoted after catching R.A. Dickey this coming Tuesday:

Nobody thought the Mets would go on carrying 3 catchers for the rest of the season but demoting Thole at a time when the offense is struggling so badly is less than ideal. Rod Barajas hasn’t homered since the last day of May (89 at-bats) and is only batting .167 (15-89) since June 1 (29 games) with 1 RBI. Thole, on the other hand, is batting .524 in limited time this season (11-21) but has also proven to be the team’s most productive bat off the bench (5-6, 3 RBI as a pinch hitter) and with men in scoring position (5-7, .714 avg).

The sample size on Thole is small, I get that, but this isn’t some low-end prospect the team hadn’t had high hopes for.
