S.F. starter Matt Cain (7 IP, 2 ER) extended the Mets scoreless streak to 24 innings while picking up his 7th win of the season in the process. So far for the series the Mets offense is just 16 for 92 (.174 AVG.) and have scored a miserable 4 runs. The team has now scored 13 runs it their last 8 games (1.62 RPG) and are 5 for 52 (.096 AVG) with RISP over that span.  After a 0-3 effort Jason Bay is now 8 for his last 44 (.181 AVG.) and catcher Rod Barajas (0-4)  has not been any better (15 for his last 89, .168 AVG.).

In the first two game of the series, starters R.A. Dickey and Jonathan Niese gave the Mets two brilliant pitching performances (in a losing effort), Hisanori Takahashi (2 2/3 IP, 6 ER) was anything but.  Takahashi allowed 5 runs in the 2nd inning highlighted by a 2 out 3 run...
