Crunch Time: 10-Game Home Stand Is Cubs Final Chance
If the Cubs have any hope at all of a miracle second half, it will all be determined in the next 11 days as the Cubs start the second half with an 11-day, 10-game home stand. I'm not saying the Cubs even have a chance, but if they do, or want to, they will need to have a memorable home stand.
There is some hope, now I did say some hope for Cubs fans. The Cubs pitching staff does lead the Majors in Quality Starts, which should result into more wins, however the Cubs bats just have been really bad, you could say worse than last year, which Cubs fans couldn't imagine another year like 2009. The staff should continue their solid play, now it's time for the MONEY players to pick their game up, and what's a better way to find a groove than at home right?? The only problem is, the Cubs are three games under .500 at home this year. The second half hinges on two players in my opinion, Derrek Lee and Aramis Ramirez. If these two can put together 73 games of great baseball, there is still some hope for the Cubbies.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
Now, with the little hope I'm trying to give to all those die hard Cubs fans, the problem is, they will need to manage more than 50 wins in the second half, that is going to be a very tall feat, but with a 9-1 or 8-2 home stand to kick off the second half, things could start looking up sooner you may think. The first hurdle for the Cubs is getting back to .500, and if they could manage a 9 - 1 home stand, they will be sitting just three games below .500, and could ride that momentum and be over .500 by the end of July.
I know these are high and maybe far fetched goals, but if the Cubs want to make noise they need to be over .500 by the end of July. I think it's possible IF the bats heat up, and if they do, the pitching will only get better. Call me crazy, but all the bad things that have happened to this team over the years, I think it's time for a miracle finish for the North side!
