Raiders Think They Will Be Contenders In 2010

Bryan BrackneyJul 14, 2010
Two Raiders recently expressed their views that their team will make the playoffs in 2010.
"I see the Silver & Black in the playoffs this year," Raiders wide receiver Louis Murphy said. "I really see us in the playoffs. We have the same coaching staff, with a couple of changes. The addition of (offensive coordinator) Hue Jackson is great, he brings a whole new feel to the offense. He's very energetic. It's a whole new feel. Everyone is excited."

“I think we’re gonna have our first double-digit win season in… I couldn’t even tell you how many years,” Raiders end Jay Richardson Football News Now in an interview. “It’s been a while. I’m hoping and pulling for 10 plus (wins),” he said. “I think we can do it. I think we’re going to be a playoff team this year. There’s a new feel around the office,” he said. “Right now I’m feeling pretty good about what we’ve got going on.”

Both players mentioned the new feel around the team. I also remember talking to Johnnie Lee Higgins not a long while back, and he was talking about how the Raider receivers are working together to be the best they can be.
Call me crazy, but I think new offensive coordinator Hue Jackson will make a big difference. He was a big part in the careers of T.J. Houshmanzadeh, Roddy White, and Joe Flacco. Reports from Oakland minicamp are that Darius Heyward-Bey is looking better.
