Not exactly the high note I was hoping for heading into the All-Star break…

But still, even with the mass amount of emails I’ve received ripping me for
not ripping the team, it’s still too early to panic….

Am I concerned? Absolutely! I would call it a ‘delayed concern’ because it’s taken a month for the loss of Kendry Morales to finally sink in…

Kendry’s loss is still a big one by the way, just in case some people forgot!….

After going 18-9 in a monster month of June, the Angels are 3-11 so far here in July,
with a monster schedule coming up out of the break….

After the quick four-game homestand with Seattle, the Angels get two at NY, four at Texas, three at home vs. Boston, followed by three at The Big ‘A’ vs. Texas….

Hopefully, the Angels will find the bottom half of their line-up….or maybe GM Tony Reagins will make a trade…

Question 1) Is Mike Napoli the guy they want to go with the rest of the way at 1B?
And if not, who do you get to replace him? And what about Napoli next season? Does this season finally answer the “what if Mike Napoli played everyday” questions?

Question 2) What about Juan Rivera? Is he the guy they want to go with in LF
Batting 6th the rest of the season? If not, who takes his place? Can he heat up in the
2nd half?…

I think any time a guy has vision problems due to ‘stress’, that could be a
Red flag…

Question 3) Can they count on Maicer coming back and taking over 3B, with Kevin Frandsen and Brandon Wood going back to back-up roles?….

And what happens if Maicer gets hurt again in August?….

Some big question marks, with some big decisions looming in the next three weeks….

But I think it’s safe to say the Angels have gone about as far as they can with the
‘internal options’….
