Danny HaugerJul 11, 2010

Angel's All-Star question mark Jered Weaver (8-4) was prepared to take the mound against the Oakland A's All-Star Trevor Cahill (3.17 ERA) on Sunday afternoon to try and end a rough slide leading into the mid-season break going 1-5 on their road trip leading into Sunday, marking the 91st game of the year for the Angels.  Weaver also had the possibility of being named to the 2010 American League All-Star team at some point after New York Yankee C.C. Sabathia would throw his first pitch of the game.

Bobby Abreu walked and stole second base to get into scoring position for Torii Hunter who was struck in the back with a wild pitch. Hideki Matsui, hitting .293 with runners in scoring position, approached the plate and popped out to center field.
