NFL 2010 Week One of the Regular Season: NFL Mikee Shows You The Winners

Thomas MorelandJul 9, 2010

Here are your final selections for Week One winners in the NFL 2010 regular season.

You can't take too many wacky upset picks, but a couple of these you have to take a shot if you wan't a 15-1 or 16-0 week to start the season.

I will stick to New Orleans at home over Minnesota in an NFC Championship Game rematch. I like the Saints up to a touchdown, but with more points go with Minnesota to cover.

I will take some Lions' fans to heart, as I will go with Detroit to get some revenge on the last two Bear game defeats, and steal a game on many people. That's a big enough upset pick that has an actual chance of happening.

As far as points go, this game will be a steal and make sure you are all over Detroit up to plus-three or four points.

I am sure Cleveland can come out where they left off last season and get a win in Tampa Bay. They must pick up the slack for Cleveland, just to erase LeBron memories and forge ahead.

Take the Browns to cover whatever line they come up with for this one.

The Giants will win by 10 points or more over the Carolina Panthers, who are in the midst of some changes.

This will be upset pick No. 2, as I originally liked the Bengals, but was kind of worried about Belichick on opening day. I chose the Pats, but I changed officially to Cincy to get this one.

The Bengals won their division and should be taken more seriously. Beating New England on opening day in their house would go a long way setting up some respect for the Bengals from coaches all around the NFL.

Bengals by three in a close game all day.

Tennessee wins easily at home over the Raiders and Miami smothers Buffalo on the road as well. Both of these should cover the points.

I also like Pittsburgh at home against Atlanta by seven, and Jacksonville to dominate Denver in Florida on opening day.

Peyton Manning will start off hot and take care of Houston on the road, as he gears up for another Super Bowl run.

Green Bay should be very good as they show their newer look, beating Philadelphia on the road to start the season.

I have the Jets to win a very tough game against Baltimore at home in a war. This game could look something like a final score of 13-7. I like the under in this one especially.

Now onto the final four picks, and we are all set to wreak havoc on your office pools if you stick with me.

San Diego is still a better team than Kansas City and will win this game to reverse the slow starts that San Diego seems to have had the last couple seasons.

The Arizona Cardinals will beat the Rams, of course, even with Matt Leinart instead of Kurt Warner.

The Dallas Cowboys will beat a newly organized Washington Redskins offense, and Donovan McNabb will feel weird in a Redskin uniform.

The San Francisco 49ers will beat Seattle and have only Arizona in their way of reclaiming the NFC West after some drought years in the Bay Area.

Look for the Niners to make a bit of noise this season, and maybe even win a playoff game.

There are your 14-16 winners hopefully in Week One. I believe my upset picks are solid, and if I hit the Bengals and the Lions, it will be a very good first week.

Thomas [NFL Mikee] Moreland.
