Report: Sean Sherk and Evan Dunham To Meet At UFC 119
MMAJunkie.com has reported that Sean Sherk and Evan Dunham have agreed to a fight at UFC 119. It would be Sherk’s first fight in over a year. Injuries have plagued the former champion, and forced him out of three scheduled fights, over the past year. However, Sherk, whose four career losses have come against either current or former UFC champions, has the ability to make one last run at the title. Sherk’s health and long layoff will certainly be points of discussion heading into the fight. The undefeated Evan Dunham is coming off of an impressive split decision victory over Tyson Griffin. A win over Sherk would propel Dunham into the mix for a title shot. UFC 119 will take place at Conseco Field House in Indianapolis, Indiana on September 25. At this time, four other fights are also reportedly expected to take place at the event, including Melvin Guillard vs. Jeremy Stephens, C.B. Dollaway vs. Joe Doerksen, Matt Mitrione vs. Joey Beltran, and T.J. Grant vs. Julio Paulino. The card does not yet have a main event, but a bout between Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Quinton Rampage Jackson has been rumored.
