What Will Michael Vick's Fate Be with Philadelphia Eagles?

The recent shooting case involving Michael Vick has been closed. As it looks right now, he is in the clear. There is a lack of information coming out of the case, and that bodes very well for him.

However, it’s still uncertain whether or not Vick is in the clear in Philadelphia.

Vick has already come out and said that having the party in the first place was a bad idea. Despite his remorse, he did hold the party, and we saw what the result was. He immediately put himself right back into the spotlight, and not the good one.

Before word came out that the case was being closed with no further action being taken, there were rumors flying left and right about the Eagles releasing Vick from the team. These reports surfaced and were quickly denied, and it’s hard to decide who’s telling the truth here.

Andy Reid has never liked seeing his players act out off the football field, so you know this whole ordeal has done nothing but upset him. What we don’t know is how deeply it upset him. This organization knew they were taking a risk when they brought in Vick, and it seemed as though Vick’s troubles were in his past until all of this took place.

With this situation arising, Vick’s character is immediately questioned again. I’m sure Reid will sit down with Vick and really try to look into what Vick was thinking and if he will act out again. If Reid lacks any trust, we may see a departure of Vick from the franchise.

A big factor that could play into the decision is the fact that Vick is the most experienced quarterback on the roster by far. He’s not the future franchise quarterback, but he’s a hell of an option to have as a backup/role player. With Kevin Kolb and Mike Kafka combining for a total of two career NFL starts, a player like Vick is a great asset.

Vick's ability as a player may just be the reason the staff is willing to take some of the focus off Vick's recent downfalls outside of the game.
