Leafs In Talks With Kings Regarding Possible Trade Involving Kaberle
I have heard from reliable sources and from ongoing reports that Brian Burke is in talks with the Los Angeles Kings regarding a trade involving Tomas Kaberle, and Mikhail Grabovski for a 1st round, 2nd round draft in 2011 and 3rd round pick in 2012 or possibly a prospect, and Jarret Stoll.
Since Hamhuis and Martin are out of the picture, the Los Angles Kings are now in desperate search for a defense men especially one with an offensive ability.
If this trade does go through, the Leafs would make up for the 1st round draft choice for 2011 they gave up to Boston in the Phil Kessel trade. With this in mind, the leafs can use these future picks for a possible trade involving a top six forward before training camp.

Although the trade looks plausible, one has to consider whether giving up Kaberle for a draft pick otherthan getting a top six forward is a choice that should be considered at this point. If this deal does go through it gives the leafs a possible chance at picking a prospect within the 15-25 area in the 2011 draft. That is, if the Los Angeles Kings don't go all the way to the cup final in the next year.
There are also reports involving trades between the leafs and the ducks, undoubtedly involving bobby ryan and Tomas Kaberle. There might be a slight possiblity this deal might happen, but lets not forget Bob Murray isn't going to give up Ryan for just Kaberle.
Ryan has a strong chemistry with Getzlaf and it is known to all that they are good friends and taking away this chemistry would only destroy the already dwindling Ducks line up. The questionability of Selanne and the recent retirement of Scott Niedermayer means the trade involving Bobby Ryan isn't going happen. If it does so, it would take more than Kaberle to make this deal happen. Names like Schenn or possibly Kadri might be thrown in there.
For what it is worth, Bobby Ryan isn't worth that trade value. It's best to look elsewhere.
