David Wright in June
At the end of May, David Wright was hitting .258 with eight homers and 34 RBI. In the month of June, he almost doubled the homers and RBI. At the end of June, he is hitting .311 with 14 home runs and 63 runs batted in.
In the month of June, he batted .404 with six homers and 29 runs batted in. He also lowered his strikeout number. Coming into June, he had 65 strikeouts already. He only struck out 25 times in June which, for him, is pretty good. Also, coming into June, he had 13 doubles. He added 11 doubles to make it 24 on the year.
Thanks to the Elias Sports Bureau , courtesy of ESPN here: http://espn.go.com/espn/elias Wright is the first player in Mets history to hit over .400 with 25 or more runs batted in in a calendar month.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
SNY announcers keep mentioning he’s leveled off his swing. What exactly does that mean?
If you look at video of him earlier in the year, he was trying to drive the ball every time up and had such an uppercut. If you look at video of his swing now, he is just going with the ball, not trying to drive it.
He is hitting the pitches he is supposed to, and not trying to do too much. He is going the other way with the outside pitch and pulling the inside pitch.
Last night, for the first time, I heard Keith Hernandez bring up the possibility of him being player of the month for the month of June. I don’t see any way he doesn’t win that honor. David completely deserves to be a starter in this year’s All Star Game.
Vote for David at: http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/events/all_star/y2010/ballot.html. Voting closes at 11:59pm this evening on the east coast. You can vote 25 times per email address. Let’s get it!
