WWE: Polar Opposites John Cena and Randy Orton Lead the Charge of Superstars

WWE has been in the PG era for a couple of years now, and one man has been the face of the company in that time, John Cena.

Cena's clean-cut image is marketable towards kids and parents who let their kids watch wrestling. He is the new G.I. Joe so to speak.

Cena grew in popularity faster than almost anyone I have ever seen. After his first major title win against Big Show for the US title, he has been on a roller coaster.

He has made movies, had more merchandise than Hogan in the 80's, and helps fulfill Make a Wish foundation commitments. He is truly the WWE's boy scout.

Now there is a new babyface, Randy Orton, who is gaining the fans' love after so many years of hatred

Orton has become an instant fan favorite ever since he turned face earlier this year. That is not say he didn't have his loyal fans while he was still a heel. In fact on more than one occasion, he received bigger pops than his babyface opponents.

Orton was a man who WWE saw as someone the fans wanted to get behind, so they turned him into a man who stands tall and fights anyone who stands in his way.

Now Orton and Cena share the top spot on Raw. They are both young, great on the mic, and have the right look to be the face of the WWE.

These similarities aside, Cena and Orton could not be any farther apart. They are polar opposite of each other. While Cena talks a big game and then backs it up, Orton lets his game speak for itself.

I was praying for an Orton face run for almost a year before it happened. He is a wrestling legacy; his father and grandfather were both successful wrestlers.

Cena has been the target of the Nexus invasion angle, and now Orton is getting into the fray as well. After Raw went off the air, the Nexus guys stormed the ring and attacked Cena.

The locker room emptied as stars came to Cena's aid. Orton was among those who assisted in driving off Nexus. After the WWE guys chased off the NXT guys, Orton and Cena were left celebrating in the ring, together.

These two had one of the most heated rivalries, and now they are somewhat on the same page. Orton has left behind his underhanded tactics and adopted a more upfront ruthless style that compliments him very well.

These two will likely engage in more matches down the line when one turns heel, but for the meantime they are the ones leading us into the next decade.
