MLB Trade Rumors: Cliff Lee is a Big Key for the New York Mets
“Do you think the Mets have a scout at Yankees Stadium tonight? Because Cliff Lee just threw a complete game.”
Those words came from the mouth of SNY play-by-play announcer, Gary Cohen. It raises a very interesting question, was there a scout there? Rumors have been flying around about the Mets going after Lee.
I am all for it.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
If it doesn’t mean trading Ike Davis. Rumors say it might involve Jenrry Mejia, but that won’t happen until he is healthy.
I’ve said it before though. The Mets have needed starting pitchers for years. All they got really was Johan Santana, who has really failed this year. He is not himself, and he is pitching like he belongs in the back of the rotation. Mike Pelfrey has really taken the ace role this year, which I am fine with.
Hisanori Takahashi has been up and down as a starter this year. I was all for him starting and he started great, but lately he has faltered. R.A. Dickey has pitched brilliantly except for one start. Jon Niese has done wonderful since returning from the disabled list, which was to be expected.
The Mets need another solid starter. Cliff Lee could be the final piece to the puzzle. The Mets also need a long relief man in the bullpen. Takahashi should go back and take that role back.
