Fat Albert Haynesworth Wants Out of D.C.

Josh McCainJun 16, 2010

Good Morning loyal reader, I'm back from Canada and just when I was feeling good about everything in D.C., I pick up this mornings Washington Post to read that the fat piece of garbage (Albert Haynesworth) this team paid so much money to wants to be traded.

Not that I'm really surprised though, I think all of us skins fan saw the writing on the wall I don't know back in December when he started complaining about promises being broken to him by the team. Seriously, his little rants started to sound like those of a 13 year old girl.

Like most Americans (and most people) out there, sometimes I hate my job, and there are times when my employer "breaks promises" to me. For instance, someone left my firm and I agreed to pick up the extra workload to help out. I was promised more money (which I never got) and that it would only be temporary (that was two years ago).

Did I hand in my resignation, did I ask to be transferred? No, I shut up and did my job, and I did that for two reasons. First, overall I really like my job, and second, in this economy where over 10 percent of the Americans are out of work, I am damn thankful to have it.

Now I don't expect a detached moron like Haynesworth to understand complex things like the economy or even elementary level math, but I do expect him to be a man and honor his contract and the 21 million dollar bonus he just got.

It's guys like Fat Albert that make it hard for me to take the players' side in the current collective bargaining agreement. Sure the owners make a lot more money, but I don't constantly see them on ESPN or read about them bitching about making more money in one season than most people make in an entire lifetime.

I understand football players have a short playing span on average and they want to make all they can, but if that's the case--sign shorter contracts. If you agree to a long-term one and have a break out year and feel you should be paid more, tough.

Like in Tennessee right now with Chris Johnson. He had one hell of a year and wants more money so he's holding out but I like how the Titans are handling it. They haven't given him anything. I'm sure something will be worked out before the start of preseason, but these players trying to hold a team hostage while they're under contract is ridiculous.

If I were the Redskins I'd do one of three things. First I'd try to trade him and get fair value or at least as fair as I can get.

If that doesn't work out I'd try my damnedest to get all or most of the 21 million dollar bonus back and then cut his fat butt.

And then if that doesn't work, keep him for the remainder of his contract but never let him play a snap. Even if there are injuries, plug someone in during the game and sign a free agent afterwards.

He wants to be a baby, fine, just bury him on the depth chart and let him waste away.

Well anyways loyal reader, thanks for letting me vent, I promise this will be the last I write about Fat Albert unless they trade him.
