The Mariners have held the upper hand in this series winning 14 of their L/20 overall meetings and have won 12 of the L/20 battles held in SD.
Since taking three of four against the AL Central leading Minnesota Twins at home, the Mariners have fallen upon hard times. Theyโ€™re just 1-6 their L/7 (-$530) games played after dropping three of four at Texas heading into this series. Seattle was figured to be a major player in the AL West this season, but so far, itโ€™s grossly underperformed. To date, the Mโ€™s stand 23-37 overall (-$1593) which equates to being the second worst bet in all of baseball. Most of that damage has come on the road where theyโ€™ve managed to win just eight of their 28 overall games (-$1165).

The Padres most recently fell out of the catbird seat in the NL West after it split its L/10 games (5-5, +$151). With the Dodgers as hot as they are, it spelled the end of their divisional rule, for now. However, theyโ€™re currently the NL Wild Card leader holding a two-game lead over the St. Louis Cardinals. At +$1375 on the year, the Padres are the best baseball betting wager in the league. Theyโ€™ve done a decent job protecting their house going 18-12 overall to reel in $541 worth of MLB betting profit for their backers.

Seattle Mariners vs. San Diego Padres
โ€ขGame Date/Time: Sunday, June 13th, 4:05 ET
โ€ขGame Location: Petco Park, San Diego, CA
โ€ขTV/Radio Broadcast: FOX-Northwest, 4SD, XM

Felix Hernandez had been running real well up until he opposed the red hot hitting Texas Rangers his last time out. He only allowed three ERโ€™s or less in each of his previous five outings, but the Rangers tagged him for eight hits and seven ERโ€™s through the six innings he lasted in Arlington. Heโ€™s 3-5 on the year and owns a solid 3.77 ERA & 1.36 WHIP through 86 total IP. The Mariners have won just five of his 13 overall starts, and stand just 2-5 in his seven outings away from Safeco Field. Opponents are batting .256 against him this year; four percentage points higher than his career average of .252. In six career starts against San Diego, Hernandez is 2-2 with a 3.69 ERA and 36 strikeouts through 39 innings.

Opposing the supposed staff ace will be lefty Clayton Richard whose 2.72 ERA is best on the Padres starting staff. He enters his 13th start of the year 4-3 overall having allowed 69 hits and 23 ERโ€™s with a K/BB ratio of 57/28 through 76 total IP. San Diego is 4-3 in his seven Petco Parks this year where the southpawโ€™s simply been fantastic allowing three ERโ€™s or less in six of the seven outings. Opponents have hit him to the tune of a .245 batting average to date. He squared off against the Mariners earlier this season and limited them to seven hits and one ER while Kโ€™ing six through seven innings to log his fourth win of the 2010 MLB betting season.

MLB Insider Tip: This has nothing but low scorer written all over it. The โ€˜underโ€™ has gone 6-2-4 in Richardโ€™s starts this year, and itโ€™s cashed in two of Felixโ€™ L/3 outings.

Hernandez was ripped apart his last time out and heโ€™ll no doubt take to todayโ€™s bump looking to make amends for that poor outing. Richard has only been roughed up once at home this year. The โ€˜underโ€™ has cashed in seven of the Mariners L/8 Interleague road games, while San Diego has played to a low scorer 22 of the L/32 (22-8-2) times it took to the field. With these teams playing to the low side of the โ€˜totalโ€™ six of the L/7 times they hooked up in Petco, my MLB predictions are for the finale of this one to follow suit.

My MLB Prediction: Seattle/San Diego Under (Hernandez/Richard)
