New Details Emerge For New WWE All Stars Video Game

The Doctor Chris MuellerJun 9, 2010

THQ and WWE have made an official announcement that they are working on a new video game that would be released separately from the standard Smackdown vs. Raw series.

The game is going to be called WWE All Stars and it will feature wrestlers from the past and present.

So far the only confirmed names for the release will be The Rock and John Cena, but more names are expected to be added as time goes by.

The commentary will most likely be handled by Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler.  JR posted a blog a few weeks back stating he had recorded dialogue for an upcoming game, and this is most likely what he was talking about.

THQ is said to be going for more of an arcade feel with this game.  It will have faster control than SVR, but will most likely feature fewer moves.

The plan is to add a new combo system that would let players chain together moves to make combos before hitting a finisher.

I am getting the feeling that this is coming out to replace the Legends of WrestleMania game that flopped so terribly.

The problem with LOW was that is did not have a good control system, and therefore felt like the old Sega wrestling games.

Certain people are expected to be in the game like HHH and Shawn Michaels, but we may see some names that video gamers of today may not be familiar with.

Legion of Doom, Big John Studd, and The Iron Sheik are a few names that I would personally like to see in the game.

What do you guys think, will the new WWE games match up to SVR or fall short?
