Scott Arniel Is the New Head Coach of the Columbus Blue Jackets
The Columbus Blue Jackets have named Scott Arniel as their new head coach. Could Arniel be the man to take the Blue Jackets to the next level, with his level of experience and previous success?
Until now, Arniel was the head coach of the American Hockey League Manitoba Moose. During his four seasons with the Moose, he helped the team to several playoff games, an appearance in the Calder Cup championship, and a winning record of 181-106-33.
Aside from coaching successfully in the AHL, Arniel has also been an assistant coach in the NHL for the Buffalo Sabres.

This successful coach has now joined the Blue Jackets for their 10th season in the NHL, and may be able to use his previous experiences to help the Jackets become a better team.
Unlike several of the previous coaches for the team, Arniel played in the NHL for several seasons. This may be the key to building the strong connection between players and coach needed to allow Arniel to lead the Blue Jackets to victory.
Most times, it is much easier for players and coaches to relate to one another when they share experiences, such as both playing at the professional level. This could give Arniel a better chance at shaping the team and guiding them in the right direction.
Arniel has also proven to be a coach who is very focused on offense. This may be just what the Blue Jackets need in order to further advance in the NHL and win more games next season.
In addition to their good defense and impressive goalies, such as Steve Mason, this could make the team much more competitive and more effective in the upcoming season.
These combined experiences could make Arniel the unstoppable force that the Blue Jackets need to reshape their team, and see more success in future seasons.
