Mets Walk-Off Yankees 🍎
Mets Notes: Murphy, Castillo, Niese & Perez
Flushing Baseball DailyJun 3, 2010
Johan Santana pitched brilliantly again, but Francisco Rodriguez blew the save while Raul Valdes gave up an 11th inning grand slam as the Mets lost 5-1 to the San Diego Padres.
Here are some notes:
- Santana is now 1-0 with a 0.74 ERA in his last 5 starts. The Mets scored 10 runs in those starts.
- Luis Castillo is going to see the doctor about his injured feet. He might need a trip to the DL.
- Daniel Murphy tore his MCL in his right knee last night. He’s out for the season.
- Jon Niese will be activated in time to start this Saturday. The Mets are hoping Oliver Perez agrees to be sent down at that time.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
The Mets lost a potential second baseman in Murphy, it would be really awful if they lost a second in Castillo. If they need another second baseman expect either Ruben Tejada or Justin Turner to get called up from Triple-A Buffalo.
