Mets Walk-Off Yankees 🍎
Mets Notes: Santana, Beltran, Castillo, Parnell
Flushing Baseball DailyJun 2, 2010
Francisco Rodriguez made it interesting in the end, but the Mets held on to beat the Padres 4-2 behind a brilliant performance by Mike Pelfrey.
Here are some notes:
- In Johan Santana’s last four starts he has a 0.91 ERA and only one win. The Mets scored a combined nine runs in those four games.
- Mets manager Jerry Manuel hinted that when Carlos Beltran returns, possibly in six-eight weeks, he’ll be playing right field.
- That’s good news because Angel Pagan’s OPS+ of 111 > Jeff Francoeur’s OPS+ of 90.
- Luis Castillo has two injured feet and limps when he walks. Still there is no DL-stint expected right now. They’ll reevaluate him this weekend.
- The Mets consulted with their minor league coaches as to which reliever to call-up next. The answer: either Bobby Parnell or Manny Acosta.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
This Luis Castillo thing is a mess. The guy is literally hobbled and the Mets are still using him. They don’t even know if by playing he is making things worse or not. Also, they’re waiting until this weekend for further tests? Did they learn nothing from 2009?
