New York Mets Claim IF Justin Turner
According to ESPN New York , the Mets have claimed infielder Justin Turner off of waivers from the Baltimore Orioles and optioned him to Triple-A Buffalo.
Turner, 25, has played five games with the Orioles this season and went 0-for-9. In 23 games at Triple-A this year turner had a .250 BA, .319 OBP, .381 SLG, and a .700 OPS.
Last season Turner had a .300 average and a .750 OPS. It earned him a late-season call-up where he hit just .167 in 18 at bats.

This is probably a depth move for the minor leagues more than anything, but the Mets are probably just looking to be sure they have a second baseman ready in case Luis Castillo goes on the DL because of his sore foot.
