An inside the park home run.  A  triple play.  And a first win.  All in one night.

The Washington Nationals snapped a season high 5 gaming losing streak while 2009 first round pick Drew Storen picked up his first major league win out of he Nationals bullpen, as the Nats defeated the division rival Mets 5-3.

Livan Hernandez threw 6.1 innings allowing 3 earned runs and 4 hits. However, it was the youngster, in just his second major league game, Drew Storen, that would gain the decision, pitching .2 inning and gaining his major league win.  Tyler Clippard pitched a scoreless 8thfor a hold, while Matt Capps shut down the Mets in the 9th to pick up his major league leading 15th save.

The game featured two oddities.  Mets Angel Pagan hit an inside the park home run and started a triple play, all in one night at Nationals Park.  He became the first major league player in 55 years to accomplish both feats in one game.  His inside the park home run came at the cost of Nats CF Nyjer Morgan, who failed to make a diving leap, sending the ball trickling to the back of center field.  The triple play was started when Pagan made a diving grab to rob Roger Bernadina of a hit, while the runners continues to advance.

Christian Guzman was caught in the triple play, but made up for it later, tripling, going 2-4, knocking in a run and scoring twice.  Ryan Zimmerman was also 2-4 and knocked in Guzman for his RBI.  Bernadina was 1-3 with a double and an RBI.  The nationals left 6 runners stranded and looked early like they have during their 45 game losing streak, unable to produce runs.
