Here’s a look at the unheralded players who played well yesterday:

Orlando Hudson, Minnesota Twins: Hudson went 3-6 with a HR and two RBI. He’s hitting .308.

Austin Jackson, Detroit Tigers (pictured): Jackson continued his torrid pace with three more hits. He was 3-5 with an RBI. Jackson’s hitting .367 on the year.

John Buck, Toronto Blue Jays: Buck continued his big week, going 3-4 with a run to raise his average to .243.

Kevin Millwood, Baltimore Orioles: Millwood got a no-decision, but went eight innings allowing two runs on five hits. His ERA is 3.15.

Wade Davis, Tampa Bay Rays: Davis threw seven scoreless innings allowing three hits with five Ks. He improved to 3-1 with a 2.79 ERA.

David Freese, St. Louis Cardinals: Freese went 3-4 with his third HR. He’s hitting .355 with 16 RBI.

Marlon Byrd, Chicago Cubs: Byrd went 2-5 with one HR (5) and three RBI (19). He’s hitting .354.

Tom Gorzelanny, Chicago Cubs: Gorzelanny gave up two runs in seven innings with 10 Ks to improve to 1-3 with a 2.48 ERA.

Blake DeWitt, Los Angeles Dodgers: DeWitt went 4-4 with three RBI to raise his average to .297.

Scott Hairston, San Diego Padres: Hairston went 2-4 with three runs, one HR (4), and two RBI. He’s hitting .271.

Jon Garland, San Diego Padres: Garland threw seven scoreless innings while allowing three hits to improve to 3-2 with a 2.06 ERA.

Jhoulys Chacin, Colorado Rockies: Chachin was impressive in his first start throwing seven scoreless innings of one-hit ball. He struck out seven.

Doug Fister, Seattle Mariners: Fister got a no-decision despite throwing eight scoreless innings of two-hit ball. He lowered his ERA to 1.29.

C.J. Wilson, Texas Rangers: Wilson also got a no-decision. He gave up one run on five hits in seven innings, lowering his ERA to 1.65.

Placido Polanco, Philadelphia Phillies: Polanco went 3-5 with two runs and one HR. He’s hitting .299.
