Ryan Lester
May 1, 2010

Hereโ€™s a look at the unheralded players who played well yesterday.

Adrian Beltre, Boston Red Sox
Beltre continues to produce for the Sox. He went 3-for-5 to raise his average to .338.

Miguel Tejada, Baltimore Orioles
Tejada was the difference maker going 3-for-4 with two runs, a home run, and three RBIs. Heโ€™s hitting .293.

Austin Jackson, Detroit Tigers (pictured)
Jackson really is in a groove. He went 5-for-5 with two runs and a stolen base to raise his average to .364.

Rod Barajas, New York Mets
Barajas went 3-for-4 with three runs, two home runs, and three RBIs. Heโ€™s hitting .227, but has five HRs and 11 RBIs.

Jonathon Niese, New York Mets
Niese went seven innings allowing one run on four hits with seven Ks. He improved to 1-1 with a 3.10 ERA.

Alex Gonzalez, Toronto Blue Jays
Gonzalez continues to shine for the Jays. He went 2-for-3 with two HRs and four RBIs. Heโ€™s hitting .289 with seven HRs and 19 RBIs.

Brandon Morrow, Toronto Blue Jays
Morrow proved me wise for picking him as aย streaming option . He gave up two runs in six innings with nine Ks. He improve to 2-2 while lowering his ERA to 5.46.

Scott Olsen, Washington Nationals
Olsen went six scoreless innings against Florida to improve to 2-1 with a 4.35 ERA.

Brian Bannister, Kansas City Royals
Bannister got a no-decision, but he still pitched a gem. He gave up one run on two hits in seven innings to lower his ERA to 3.48.

Barry Zito, San Francisco Giants
You donโ€™t hear quite as many cracks about Zitoโ€™s contract anymore. Not after giving up two runs on five hits with five Ks in eight innings to improve to 4-0 with a 1.53 ERA.

Clayton Richard, San Diego Padres
Richard gave up four hits in six scoreless innings to improve to 1-2 with a 3.00 ERA. He struck out eight batters.
