Green Machine: Big Three Getting Hot at The Right Time

With the other nights crushing of the Denver Nuggets the Boston Celtics have now won 5 of their last six and two against teams with better records then them. 

The Celtics played the type of defense tonight that they did in their championship run in 2008. Although Anthony scored 32 points he was only 9-23 from the field, the type of defense they are going to have to play against LeBron and Kobe in the playoffs. 

Paul Pierce had another great night shooting 10-16 and 27 points. Over the last 5 games he is averaging 24.4 PPG. 

Ray Allen the last four games is averaging 17.5 PPG. In the last 8 games he is shooting 46.7 percent from the three point line. 

Kevin Garnett had a great night with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Over the last 7 games he is averaging 15.3 PPG which is higher then his season average of 14.2. His stats may not be that eye opening, but his defense has improved and his knee is obviously feeling better.

Rajon Rondo had a triple double the other night with 11 points, 15 assists, and 11 rebounds. 

Since being with the Celtics Michael Finley has doubled his PPG and raised his FG% from 32.7 to 54.6. he has contributed as the Celtics have hoped.

Over the last 6 games the Celtics defense is holding opponents to 96.5 PPG while scoring 105.7 PPG. 

All stats aside the Celtics have their swagger back. They were passing the ball around so well the other night and confusing the Nuggets with their fast pace sharing. It was a sigh of relief to see that they were even still capable of this, especially at home where they have struggled the most. 

Anyone watching the game could tell that they were getting into the crowd and playing with confidence, essential for their playoff run. If the Big Three can continue to stay hot, then the rest of the league needs to watch out.
