Dwade's Last Visit To Chicago, As a Visitor
Tonight the Bulls host hometown kid Dwyane Wade and his Miami Heat at the Madhouse on Madison. Could this be the last game Wade plays in the house that Jordan built, as a visitor.
As I'm sure everyone knows by now Wade along with a couple other big names from the 2003 draft (Bosh & Lebron) can become a free agent this summer. The Bulls along with a few other teams will have the cap space to sign one of these big guys.
Does Wade want to return home?
Wouldn't he love to be paired with Drose to make an all Chicago back-court playing for their town team?
I am not sure if he does want to leave beach and sun and tax free land of Florida for the snow and slush of Chicago but I know he would love to play along side Rose.
Putting Wade, who will turn 29 next season, along side Rose (22 in October), Joakim Noah (just 25) and Luol Deng (turning 25 in a few weeks) has to be exciting to him. They would provide a nice young core that would form around him as the go to guy.
Miami is going to try and use Wade to recruit a free agent like Lebron, Bosh, Amare or Boozer to join him and team up with Michael Beasley. But is that what is best for his career.
Look at how things went for the big three in Boston. The Celtics had Paul Pierce and then made big trades to get Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett and it paid off. They got their championship but at what cost? Wouldn't they have been better keeping Al Jefferson?
Look at Wade's own Heat. After Wade made a big splash as a rookie along side fellow young players Lamar Odom and Caron Butler, Pat Reilly decided to make a bigger splash and trade Odom and Butler for Shaq. And again it worked out they won A championship with a veteran team and then quickly fell apart getting swept out of the playoffs in the first round the next year by da Bulls.
Is being paired with a similar aged player really best for Wade?
I have said before I'm not sure Wade is the best fit for the Bulls but they are absolutely the best fit for him.
