2010 Browns Mock Draft

Justin KowalczykMar 20, 2010

It seems to be popular to post your ideal Browns draft (or MOCK Draft as some would say) So here is mine, Browns picks only not including any trades.

Pick 7: Joe Haden- I dont see Berry falling (although id love for him to) but Haden is the next best player in a position of need. Pairing him with Wright gives us a solid 1-2 punch at CB and allows McDonald to move to Nickel where he can excel.

Pick 38: Jerry Hughes OLB - Another position of need after the trade of Wimbley. Kid ran a good 40, put up a good number of reps bench pressing, and had a solid season on a very good D (16 TFL 11 Sacks).

Pick 72: Jared Veldheer- small school tackle who could anchor the right side of our line for years to come.

Pick 86: Darrell Stuckey: Under rated Safety prospect who IMO could come in and start immediately. Him and Haden would solidify our secondary with the weakest link probably being Elam (someone replaceable next season)

Pick 93: Demaryius Thomas: WR out of Georgia Tech, not a great Route Runner but has the size we are lacking from the WR position. Possible reach pick here, but had 500 yds receiving in 5 games in GT's gimmick offense system that rarely passed.

Pick 106: Brandon Spikes: Call me crazy, but i have heard nothing but negative things about his draft stock. Looking online I have found quite a few sources that have him going 4th round. Has upside, and played very well on a good D. Could be our ILB of the future with some good coaching.

Pick 136: Mike Neal: DE out of Purdue that while unspectacular played well enough in a major conference. He would add youth to our aging DL, as he is a DE. Him and Rubin could be our future.

Pick 139: Robert Johnson: Another safety you say? We need them. We lack quality depth, and Johsnon could be a sleeper as he is coming off a very solid senior season.

Pick 148: Mike Kafka: And there it is, my QB pick ladies and gentleman. None of the big name players really impress me this season, and adding them would just split the fanbase that likes to latch on to a big name prospect. Kafka will have atleast 1 season to learn from Jake, Seneca, and Holmgren/Mangini before being fed to the wolves.

Pick 162: Shawn Luavao: Guard out of Arizona state, short arms will hurt his stock and if he is available I think he would be a solid pickup late.

Pick 180: Clifton Geathers: Another DL prospect with upside. Huge size (6'7) could make him a pretty solid pass tipper at the line. Has NFL blood lines with his brother already there.

Pick 189: Lamarcus Coker: RB out of Hampton has a checkered past but is blazing fast ( Ran a 4.3 coming out of High School). Had issues at Tennessee with Drugs, but has been out of trouble since 08. While our RB corps are over filled already, I could see him getting a look.

Feel free to rip this Mock apart, as some of the picks (Spikes and Thomas mainly) rely alot on them falling moreso then some predict.
